Vidya-Ashram is a private companion for dharmic study and practice, operated by Artius Solutions (“we”, “us”). What you write in this app is personal — often deeply so — and this policy explains plainly what we collect, how it is used, where it lives, and the choices you have. Our approach is simple: collect the minimum, keep it on our own hardware, and never sell it.
Your reflections and conversations are processed by AI models running on our own server — they are never sent to third-party AI providers. We use Google only to sign you in and Cloudflare only to deliver the website securely. No ads, no trackers, no data sales. Email [email protected] any time to access or delete your data.
Some study progress (for example, which lessons you have opened) is stored only in your own browser and never reaches our server.
We do not use your content to train AI models, we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
All AI responses are generated by open-weight models running locally on a server we own and operate. Your conversations and reflections are not sent to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or any other AI cloud. This is a deliberate design choice: contemplative writing deserves privacy.
Beyond these two, and disclosure required by law (see below), your data does not leave our systems.
Your data is stored on our server in the United States, protected by access controls, encrypted transport, and nightly backups. We keep your content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a memory, it is removed immediately from active systems; if you ask us to delete your account, we remove your content from active systems promptly and it ages out of rotating backups within about 30 days. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
No internet service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your data with care proportionate to how personal it is.
Only in three situations: (a) you ask us to; (b) we are required to by valid legal process; or (c) it is genuinely necessary to protect the safety of a person or the integrity of the Service. If the Service is ever transferred as part of a reorganization, your data would remain protected under this policy and you would be notified.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights — for example under the EU/UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or US state privacy laws. We honor the rights above for everyone, regardless of location. If you believe we have not addressed your concern, you may also contact your local data-protection authority.
The Service is operated from the United States. By using it, you understand that your information is processed and stored on our server in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.
Vidya-Ashram is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above; for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in the app before they take effect. We will never weaken the core commitments here — local AI processing, no data sales, no ad tracking — without asking for your consent.
